Christmas Concert 2017

Date: January 10, 2018 Author: Rachel Gaulton Categories: Events, Wright

All the best things are said to be worth waiting for, and that was definitely the case with our Christmas concert, which was postponed due to freezing road conditions on the original planned date.
What a superb morning’s entertainment from all our students as they reminded us of Christmas 1940, with memorable songs and sketches. Letitia stole the show as Vera Lynn, with her interpretation of ‘The White Cliffs of Dover’, along with Megan’s solo,of that emotional classic, ‘Let There be Peace On Earth’.
Mrs Jackson’s class reminded us of the role of the Navy, with ‘Somewhere Beyond The Sea’, and were immaculate in their tropical Navy white uniforms.
Mrs Ball oversaw the whole production, with a broad repertoire of seasonal music from the War Years, and both Mr Harvey and Mr Whewell’s classes
enjoyed demonstrating their abilities in Regimental Drill, which left the audience in stitches. Many of the audience commented on the humour of the concert as well as the wonderful efforts of the whole school team to provide such a quality performance. Congratulations Everyone!
The Christmas Fayre followed immediately , and people were obviously in a good mood for spending and showing their appreciation, as about £800, was raised in a very short time. Thanks to all our supporters in the wider community, as well as family and friends for their generosity to us all here at The Meadows. We really appreciate you rkindness.
Happy New Year 2018!
